The Cartridge Guys are two brothers who enjoy many of the same interests. One of those interests, as you may have guessed, is collecting cartridges. Lyle began long before Mike did, but eventually Lyle encouraged Mike to join him in his quest for collecting cartridges of all types. And someday, Mike will get him back!

Mike Ross

My name is Mike Ross, and I have spent my entire life in Minnesota. I am the youngest of five boys, and grew up fishing and hunting with them and our Dad. My love of the outdoors comes naturally, as I never had to be coaxed into spending a day in the boat or in the woods.

After high school, I attended a technical school and received a two-year education as a Designer/Draftsman. I have spent the last thirteen years working for a few different companies designing roll cages and operator enclosures for heavy equipment, bridge building systems for major bridges around the United States and heavy-haul trailers for hauling heavy equipment.

I am married to a lovely lady who supports my hobbies to a point, but just doesn't quite understand why I get excited about cartridges. Must be a guy thing. Together, we have two wonderful children who enjoy the outdoors as well, and have given me the opportunity to pass on the outdoors legacy.

My brother Lyle started taking me to cartridge shows with him after I graduated high school, and like anything that involves guns, I became addicted to the pursuit of collecting cartridges. I will admit that of the two of us, Lyle is a much more avid collector. One of the reasons I enjoy it, is that it gives us one more thing to share together.

Lyle Ross

My brother Lyle is the oldest of five brothers. Ever since he was a young lad, he was always interested in the outdoors and everything it has to offer. He was an avid amatuer entymologist as a youngster and had an interesting collection of butterflies and moths as well as buckets of agates he collected at our Uncle's gravel pit adjacent to the woods where we honed our outdoor skills. He grew up in Litchfield, Minnesota which was as near to a Midwestern sportsman's paradise as you can get.

After high school, Lyle entered the United States Air Force, and served his country attached to the 20th Tactical Fighter wing in Upper Heyford, England as a weapons mechanic. After his service, he moved back to Litchfield, to once again pick up his fishing rod and shotgun.

As a youngster, he became interested in collecting ammunition and there began the history of our collecting of antique ammunition. Lyle has been an avid collector with more effort being put into the pursuit over the last few years. He attends many collector's shows and has quite a network of national collectors he associates with.

Lyle now resides in Grand Forks, North Dakota where he is the Safety Director for a national construction company. He is also the President of NOSHA (Northern Occupational Safety & Health Association). Living in North Dakota has opened new doors to the hunting world for Lyle as he now avidly hunts antelope, whitetail deer, pheasants, ducks and geese.
